Charging couplers

The ODU TURNTAC® contact system and the associated ODU Pins are the technically and economically attractive choice for all types of EV charging applications, such as the IEC 62196-2 / Mode 3(B) charging cable. In addition to a large number of available standard designs, individual customizations can also be implemented.

The special robustness and durability of ODU TURNTAC® allows mating cycles beyond the standard requirements – up to 20,000 cycles! Low insertion and withdrawal forces as well as low and stable contact resistances round off the range.

ODU STAMPTAC® enables the mass production of charging cables. Processing from the conveyor belt makes it easy to automate processes. Contacts are available for the European AC charging interface IEC 62196 / Type 2.

Transition points from the grid connection to the electric vehicle can cause losses, especially with high charging currents. More conductive contact systems such as ODU TURNTAC® offer solutions for AC and demanding DC applications and exceed the specified service life with permanently low transmission losses.

he flexible contact design also enables use on the grid connection side. In some regions, plug-in grid adapters are used to simplify the connection of chargers for the end user. Here too, ODU TURNTAC® is the ideal choice.

Charging inlets

The charging socket is the interface to the vehicle and is therefore of particular importance. This transition point and therefore the influence of the contact pins is often underestimated - regardless of whether they are installed on the vehicle (NACS, SAE, IEC) or in the charging plug (GB/T, ChaoJi, CHAdeMo).

ODU Pins have a precisely fitting shape and have a very high surface quality, which makes them particularly durable in use. The high holding force and durability of the touch protection caps provide the user with lasting safety. Of course, they are also the perfect complement for ODU TURNTAC® and ODU STAMPTAC® contact systems.
