Modern electric drives use hairpin technology, which uses solid copper rods in the stator ring instead of round wire. This increases the copper fill factor and thus the power density. With the possibility of industrial production in large quantities, flexible and powerful interfaces to the inverter are also required.
ODU offers pluggable solutions for interfaces that previously had to be screwed together due to position tolerances of the hairpin winding and the inverter. Thanks to integrated tolerance compensation, it enables an equally efficient and automated connection of the electric motor and inverter in the manufacturing process.
The inverter and electric motor can also be easily separated from each other for servicing at a later date without having to remove covers that are difficult to access and then seal them again at great expense.
Round and flat contact systems are available as well as complete conectors.
When modules need to be integrated within the smallest possible installation space, conventional HV connectors often reach their limits. Until now, screw connections have been the standard solution that also can handle occuring tolerances.
ODU DOCKING MATE® offers a plug-in alternative with integrated tolerance compensation.
Hydrogen is an indispensable energy source for the future mobility mix. In a fuel cell, it reacts with oxygen to produce water, heat and electricity, which drives the electric motor. Electric air compressors supply the air required for the reaction. Due to fixed motor winding connections and thermal expansion, tolerance compensation may be necessary, which conventional plug connections hardly offer.
This is where the ODU DOCKING MATE® comes into play: The system enables tolerance compensation, is powerful and compact, with adaptable housings and flexible contact arrangement for different installation situations
